The Stanedge Golf Club Junior Section consists of a small group of juniors who are currently trying to attract new junior members to join the club which is located on the edge of the Peak District and has fantastic views over open countryside and distant counties.
We play in County Junior League matches and have achieved a good degree of success over the past few years, having reached the finals on several occasions.
Although small in number the juniors have a very good record in county team events and have represented the Club in the national finals at Woodhall Spa.
Our junior captain last year was also the County girls’ captain.
There are no restrictions on juniors with regards to junior competitions. Entry is free.
Junior boys can play in gents’ competitions on reaching a playing handicap of 24. Junior girls also play in the ladies competitions.
Up to 10 free lessons are available during spring and summer months.
The club has adopted the English Golf Union recommendations for child protection and guidelines for behaviour expected from juniors and adults are openly displayed.
(See the links on this page to download these policy documents).
At the moment there is no entry fee for juniors interested in joining, so if you want to find out more please contact the club on 01246 566156 or the junior organiser on 01246 237088 who will be very pleased to show you around and perhaps play a few holes.
